Logistics occupiers remain confident with their expansion plans. CBRE asked 100 of the largest logistics businesses in Europe about their logistics footprints, preferences for locations, the challenges they are facing and their ESG considerations.
Key findings from the survey include:
• Three quarters of the surveyed companies are expecting to grow their logistics footprint in the next three years
• Occupiers are now more willing to explore alternative locations than two years ago
• Supply chain issues have impacted 84% of logistics occupiers, and 32% do not expect them to end before 2023
• A shift in mentality can also be seen as occupiers embrace the ESG challenges as part of their wider business strategy, and include real estate strategies to meet their net zero carbon targets
• Logistics occupiers express a willingness to pay a green rent premium above market, especially if there is a net operational cost saving
